Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Dinner Genie is designed to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. This page explains what information may be collected when you use the site and how it is used.
Information we may collect
If you create an account, we collect the information you provide directly, such as your email address and account password. If you use features like recipe generation, menu generation, cookbook saving, blackboard saving, or ingredient photo scanning, the content you submit may also be stored or processed so the service can work properly.
How information is used
We use collected information only to operate and improve Dinner Genie. That includes things like letting you sign in, save recipes, store cookbook items, keep your blackboard available, protect the site against abuse, and generate recipe or menu results based on what you submit.
Photo and prompt content
If you upload pantry, fridge, or ingredient photos, or submit prompts and ingredient lists, that information may be sent to third-party AI providers strictly for the purpose of analyzing the image or generating the requested recipe or menu output.
Cookies and similar technologies
Dinner Genie may use essential session cookies or similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember settings, support PWA behavior, and preserve app functionality. These are used for site operation rather than email marketing.
Analytics
The site may use basic analytics tools to understand general traffic and usage patterns. These tools help improve performance and usability, but Dinner Genie is not currently intended for email marketing or mailing list collection.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only with service providers or infrastructure used to operate the site, such as hosting, database, authentication, analytics, and AI processing services.
Data retention
Account information and saved content may be kept as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, and support legitimate operational needs.
Your choices
You can choose whether to create an account. If you do not create one, some saved-content features may be limited. If you want your account removed later, contact us and we can review the request.
Children's privacy
Dinner Genie is not specifically directed to children under 13, and accounts should not be created by children without appropriate parental involvement.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as the site changes. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy.
