Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
Dinner Genie is designed to collect as little personal information as reasonably necessary to operate the website and mobile app. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use Dinner Genie, how it is used, and when it may be shared with service providers that help operate the platform.
Information we may collect
If you create an account, we may collect information you provide directly, such as your email address and password. If you use features like recipe generation, menu generation, cookbook saving, shopping list tools, meal prep tools, or ingredient photo analysis, the content you submit may also be stored or processed so Dinner Genie can provide those features.
How information is used
We use information only to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Dinner Genie. That can include signing you in, saving cookbook content, processing recipe and menu requests, supporting app functionality, preventing abuse, troubleshooting issues, and improving performance and usability.
Photo uploads, camera access, and prompts
If you choose to upload pantry, fridge, or ingredient photos, or use camera-based image features, those images may be processed to analyze ingredients and generate recipe or menu results. If you submit prompts, ingredient lists, or related text, that content may also be processed for the purpose of generating the requested output. Dinner Genie only uses photo or camera access when you choose to use those features.
Payments
If you choose to use payment-related features such as the Tip Jar, payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Dinner Genie does not store full payment card numbers on its own servers. Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies and security practices.
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
Dinner Genie may use essential cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, support app or PWA behavior, and preserve core functionality. These technologies are used for operation of the service rather than email marketing.
Analytics and diagnostics
Dinner Genie may use basic analytics, logs, or diagnostics tools to understand general usage patterns, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability, performance, and usability.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only with service providers or infrastructure used to operate Dinner Genie, such as hosting, database, authentication, analytics, AI processing, storage, and payment service providers.
Data retention
Account information and saved content may be kept as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support legitimate operational needs.
Your choices and account deletion
You can choose whether to create an account. If you do not create one, some saved-content features may be limited. If you want to request account deletion or data removal, contact us at info@privileged.design.
Children's privacy
Dinner Genie is not specifically directed to children under 13, and accounts should not be created by children without appropriate parental involvement.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as Dinner Genie changes. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
